Lu Kimmel, born in 1905, was an illustrator of the 1930s through the 1960s. His style reflects the period he worked in but was overshadowed by his famous contemporaries such as Howard Pyle, N.C. Wyeth and Frank E. Schoonover. Although not as famous as some of his contemporaries, Lu's paintings graced some of the same hallways and book covers as Wyeth's, Pyle's and Norman Rockwell's.
